“This ain’t no ladies’ gym!” “Changes start in your mind.” “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” “Do what you can do.” “You can do it!” “Interesting sounds are good.” “You will be sore.” “Drink lots of water.” “Why did I agree to this?” “I have never been ‘athletic” – why start now?” “This is hard.” “It’s like jumping off a cliff – you’ll never talk yourself into it, so just jump!”
These are just a few of the phrases and thoughts resonating in my mind from the past few days. So, why did I agree to this experience? It is very dark when you leave the house before 5 AM. This is hard work. I enjoy sleeping. I may not lose a lot of weight. But for me, it is a glimpse of God’s Grace and Mercy specifically for me. My prayer for consistency in exercise and improvement in my health was answered. I want to be faithful to my God. I want to improve my health. I want to feel better. I would have liked it to be easier, but it is not. I need the discipline and accountability that comes with this early morning workout with friends. I prayed the prayer for help, and God answered. How can I say no to His answer?

Alisa- It has been great getting to know you at the workouts each morning! It's wonderful to see the improvement that you've made so far...you had a rough beginning for sure! Hang in there! You are doing great! Blessings in your journey to good health! Cyndi
Alisa,
The scared look on your face that first morning mirrored all of our hearts...but look at us now. We are really doing this stuff...slowly but we are doing it.
I am so proud of you...after that first grueling week, we are upward and onward!
Renee
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Alisa! YOU are doing this! How awesome is that! I was so encouraged reading your blog and a glimpse further into your heart for God. God is faithful and He will bless us and give us strength. I shared all the thoughts you had that first week....I still have a few this week....but we are doing it! We are making changes now that will improve our lives and that of our children in the future. I am so excited for you! And for me. I'm so happy I'm on your team! You encourage me by your determination!
Love ya,
Juji
Hi Alisa!
From the day I saw your cute picture of you waving at the camera, I just knew you are a wonderful person! I'm thankful that God brought all of us together for the Healthquest On The HomeStretch. His plan is always perfect!!
Blessings,
julie
you are a dear woman and I'm glad to be sweating with you :)
getting healthy together!!
so glad you're doing HealthQuest On The HomeStretch!
i'll see ya soon.
You made me so proud this morning...I almost started crying! Seeing you struggle to finish that horrid blue push thing...I remember the first time Carter asked the March HealthQuest to push that thing. I finished on my knees, wondering when I had gotten so out of shape.
Seeing you finish, all the way to the end, was an inspirational moment for me.
So proud that you continue to do it...every day, you show up and you continue to do it.
Renee
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and hearing about your journey!!!
